As a full time photographer, I’ve had the amazing privilege to mentor and provide internships to 8 local high school seniors over the last few years. Now that my current interns are gearing up for graduation and prepping to leave for college. It’s time I start planning for the next set of interns, so in todays blog we will talk about some reasons you may want to consider spending your senior year interning with me. At the end of the blog I’ll share the newest internship openings and how you can apply.
Internships are open to those both interested in photography and business. Now, you might be wondering what photography has to do with small business. But, let me tell you: running a photography business requires a lot more than just taking killer pictures. It involves marketing, client relations, financial management, and much more. By interning with me, you'll get a firsthand look at what it takes to run a successful small business, regardless of what industry you ultimately choose to pursue.
So besides the obvious benefit of so many free photos during your internship, lets talk about what else you can expect!

2023-2024 Internships
Job Title: Personal Assistant Intern
Job Summary:
We are seeking a personal assistant intern to support Morgan Tolentino Photography in all aspects of their business and household management. The ideal candidate will be flexible, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist with small business tasks such as invoicing, bookkeeping, and record-keeping.
Communicate with clients and vendors via email, phone, and in person.
Assist with photo shoots, including setting up equipment, assisting with lighting, and creating shoot list.
Help with post-production tasks such as image selection and editing.
Manage and prioritize the photographer's schedule and appointments, including client meetings, photo shoots, and personal appointments.
Perform studio/household management tasks such as paying bills, errands, and light cleaning.
Help with other tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
Flexible and willing to jump in and assist with a variety of tasks.
This is an unpaid internship, but we will provide school credit and/or a letter of recommendation upon completion of the internship. The internship will run for a period of 1-2 semester(s). We are looking for candidates who are passionate about creative small businesses and eager to learn from experienced professionals in the industry.
Job Title: Content Creation Intern
Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and creative individual to join our team as a Content Creation Intern. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating high-quality social media content, producing engaging video and podcast content, and creating SEO-friendly blog content. The Content Creation Intern will work closely with the Social Media Manager and Video/Podcast Producer to develop and execute content that aligns with the company's goals and values.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate to create content for social media platforms
Develop and maintain a content calendar for social media platforms
Create engaging and visually appealing graphics, photos, and videos to be shared on social media
Write engaging captions and hashtags for social media posts
Monitor and engage with followers on social media platforms
Assist with pre-production tasks such as scriptwriting, storyboarding, and location scouting
Set up and operate camera, lighting, and sound equipment during video and podcast shoots
Edit video and podcast content using software such as Final Cut Pro
Assist with post-production tasks such as color correction, sound mixing, and exporting final content
Create SEO-friendly blog content for the company website
Requirements:
Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
Familiarity with social media platforms and their respective best practices
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with others
Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
