Wedding Timeline Tips

Creating the perfect timeline for your special day can tend to be a very overwhelming process for even the most organized couples. Having a timeline that works for everyone involved, will make things so much easier on you. There should be no need for stress and worry on your special day. That is why I have a few tips for you on how to make a clear timeline for yourself!

1. Consider the Ceremony Time

The timing of sunset is going to be super important to laying out the right timeline. If you are wanting to get sunset photos with your partner, having the ceremony an hour or two before then leaves enough time to do family photos, stop by the reception, then sneak out for golden hour. Depending on the time of year in which your wedding is in will also greatly affect when sunset is so be sure to take that into consideration.

Bonus Tip: Plan when the ceremony will be first then schedule everything else around it. Start with when bride/bridesmaids and groom/groomsmen need to arrive, wedding start, ceremony, and exit then fill in all the little gaps from there. This will help you know how much time you have to include little moments that you want without your timeline being a chaotic jumble.

2. Add Buffer Time

Stress is not a feeling you want to feel throughout your entire wedding day, and giving yourself Some buffer time is just the right remedy for that feeling. Giving yourself some time in between events allows for you to have more wiggle room on how long things take. Cause who knows, maybe the groomsmen are taking their sweet time taking goofy photos which was longer than you anticipated. No worries! Buffer time will allow for moments like these and to let you catch your breath. Also, consider travel times from location to location and think about adding 5 more minutes in between so everyone has a chance to get there on time!

3. Coordinate With the Vendors

Share your timeline with your vendors!! This small thing helps keep everyone on the same page and eases any confusion anyone may have. Your vendors may even be willing to give you feedback on your timeline to help you better prepare for any event they may be included in. If you are working with a wedding planner, check if they are coordinating with your vendors. And even if you aren’t, your wedding location should be able to help as they’ve most likely held several weddings and events there which means they have experience in this sort of thing.

4. Have Fun!

And finally, despite all the tiny intricate details of your wedding, the most important thing to remember to go with the flow. Not everything may happen perfectly and that’s totally okay! Nothing at your wedding can’t happen without you being present so don’t stress! Take in every moment of the day, however it may come around!
